KEEP FOCUSED – the words that have stayed with me over the past year.

Its been an extraordinary 12 months with the changes in the housing market, values, mortgages and not forgetting the changes in the HIP’s formula from the 6th of April 2009.

Here at Jenny Austen Estate Agents we have remained controlled through all the changes and with determination and hard work are still here to write this news update.

A question I’m frequently asked at the moment, whether on a market appraisal, viewing or even in the supermarket, is how is the housing market.? So, I thought I would try and express to you all what my view is on the state of the housing market.

I unfortunately don’t have a crystal ball, if I did I would be a wealthy lady! My feelings are that we have turned the corner - viewing activity is stronger, mortgages are becoming a fraction easier to get hold of and, more importantly, we are achieving sales. I can’t promise it will continue, but it’s refreshing news from all the doom and gloom we have heard about the market recently.

As a few of you who follow me closely will know - you have seen more of my SOLD boards recently - and that’s true. Here at Jenny Austen Estate Agents, our motivated staff has seen this recession as a challenge. An old boss of mine once said ‘remember it’s never a problem but a challenge’. I am sure that the drive and enthusiasm we have to sell houses has helped us through this changing market.
